No, Fox WiFi dataloggers transmit on the 2.4 GHz band only. Due to its longer wavelengths, 2.4 GHz signals travel further and can penetrate walls and floors more effectively than 5 GHz signals, and this is of critical importance when considering that inverter locations (e.g. loft space and outbuildings) can of often be external to the main living space.
All routers supplied by UK internet service providers will provide dual-band functionality – we’re not aware of any exceptions at this time; however, in some cases, routers may be shipped with 2.4 Ghz disabled by default. To enable this option, it would be necessary to access the device settings. Please refer to the providers instructions for accessing the router admin settings. Please note, Fox ESS support teams cannot assist with this process as it will involve access to a 3rd party device to adjust settings that can only be carried out locally.
