Release Notes?

When are the release notes pages going to be updated?

It's now three months since they were last updated and there have been a considerable number of software updates with many devices having multiple updates in that time.

A bump from me on this.

I’ve recently had Fox Support push a Manager (ARM) update from 1.52 to 1.66 to fix an issue regarding a power generating imbalance between identical strings connected to PV3 and PV4 inputs on a KH10.5.

Whilst I’m very grateful for the speed in which this issue was resolved I could have done this update myself if I had some idea as to what issues recent firmware releases were resolving.

I’m a firm believer of ‘if it isn’t broke – don’t fix it’ but on the other hand if there are wider performance improvements through firmware updates then it would be good to deploy them.

Without any Release Notes however, we would be performing this task blind!

I know documentation can be a real pain but come on Fox put some resources behind the task – it’s not as if no one knows what the firmware updates are for.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

We apologise for the lack of updates regarding this. The case has recently been reassigned to another member of our team, which has unfortunately resulted in a delay in communication. Going forward, we'll ensure you receive regular updates and will continue working with you to help you get the best out of your system.

Hi,

it's really sad to see, how Fox does share such important informations! I use a H3-12 E converter and I read most of the params via Modbus for visualisation in HomeAssistant. I got in real trubble, when I updatet to Manager Ver. 1.93 and Master Ver. 2.23: Most of the regs where changed and the Modbus -communication changed too! Why do they do this without any notice to customers?? I know: "Never touch a running system!", but there are many things to change or "nice to know" for a better undestanding and a better control of the converters! 😎

@Agush Berisha - so over a month since your reply, any update on when we are finally going to get release notes published?

I raised this issue with a Fox representative on their stand at the Solar and Storage show this week in Birmingham, UK.

I pointed out the potential embarrassment of having a public facing Firmware Release Notes web page that hasn’t been updated for 6 months and the undermining of confidence such silence can have to Installers and System Designers when selecting products for use, particularly in such a competitive industry.

FFS this is ridiculous, it's almost as if Fox are embarrassed to state that there are software fixes needed, although it's obvious that they are.  Granted some of the updates give functionality enhancements but without release notes we don't know what they are.

It also seems that comments on here are being ignored
