If the Hub and Inverter are far apart (house>garage), no wireless Com In / Out connection is possible, only a buried signal cable is usable.
The only option for this type of setup is then to have a signal cable alongside the power cable, which probably isn't standard for most garages retrofitting a battery system in a safe location not in the house.
Add the ability to either use the local WiFi network to communicate, or dedicated radios to talk wirelessly, dedicated radios being preferable if the Wifi fails. Many off the shelf radios available that could be flashed with custom firmware to achieve this.
